“The Effie Effect” under contract

I’m delighted to announce that my comic noir mystery play “The Effie Effect” is contracted to Dean Productions Theatre in LA for audio production in their “Premiere the Play” 2025 series.

The piece will record this autumn and release next summer.

The play had a staged reading as part of “Play With Your Food” Festival on Cape Cod a few years ago; I rewrote it last year and submitted the new draft to this theatre, and it was the right match.

I’m very excited to work with them over the coming months.

SERENE & DETERMINED Reading

I’m delighted that my plaly SERENE & DETERMINED, about the painter Lavinia Fontana, will have a staged reading by the Barr HIll Players at La Mama Galleria in NYC in July.

This play was originally created as part of the 365 Women a Year Playwrighting Project, and has been through several drafts since.

I’m delighted it will come to life, and very thankful to the Barr Hill Players.

Thank you, Fenimore and Glimmer Globe!

Deepest thanks to the Fenimore Art Museum, The Glimmer Globe Theatre, production manager Mike Tamburrino, director Mary Davis Fralick, and the cast: Angela Cobb, Thomas Fralick, Judy Greenburg, Sheila Lenk Ayres, Sharon Rankins-Burd, Tom Russo, Michael Trainor, and Amy Wyant.

Thank you for the time, dedication, and collaboration to bring the words on the page to life!

FALL FOREVER Staged Reading

I’m delighted that my full-length drama about grief and its consequences, FALL FOREVER, will be given a staged reading by the Glimmer Globe Theatre on April 7, 2024 at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, NY.

This play was born in a workshop hosted by the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and written during the Dramatists Guild End of Play Program in 2023, and then given a virtual reading. It was then rewritten before being sent out on submission.

Nightwood Theatre’s Creatryx 3.0 Unit

I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of this summer/fall’s Nightwood Theatre Creatryx 3.0 unit, with Toronto’s Nightwood Theatre.

We meet virtually for 2 hours every Thursday for nine weeks, developing work together.

I will be working on FROZEN AT THE PALACE THEATRE, a play about a group of friends who haven’t seen each other since high school, who sneak into the movie theatre where they found solace and companionship on the night before it’s demolished.

The seed of this play was also born in the playwright’s workshop led by Kori Alston, hosted by Williamstown Theatre, in June of 2022.

I’m so honored to be part of this exciting, dynamic group!

FALL FOREVER Table-read

FALL FOREVER, a full-length naturaltic drama, had a virtual table read, through Dramatists Guild’s End of Play Table reads program. The author is deeply grateful to the time and talent of the five actors covering the play’s seven roles! Thank you Melody Browning, Jude Cramer, Sophia Drapeau, Emma Foster, and Ian Littleworth!

This play was born in the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Playwrights Workshop in June 2022, led by Kori Alston, and the first draft written the month of April, 2023, as part of The Dramatists Guild End of Play Program. Thanks to the Massachussetts Cultural Council for their support.

“The Collector” Contracted

I’m delighted to announce that “The Collector” a 30-minute radio play ghost story, has been contracted for production by The Forbidden Room. Stay tuned for broadcast date and links!

When Susan and Tom investigate an abandoned mansion, are those mannequins discarded from a department store, or something more sinister? And who’s winding up the old Victrola in an abandoned house?

“Pier-less Crime” Performed!

I’m delighted to announce that “Pier-less Crime”, the third of the Frieda/Laz trilogy set in the 1920s, was performed on May 23 at the Radio Theatre Project in St. Petersburg, Florida!

In this 30-minute comic noir mystery, Frieda and Laz perform their double-act on the pier in Brighton, England, only to stumble, literally, over a dead body. A vicar in love with a fortune-teller, a showgirl with her sights set on Laz, and a local detective who isn’t all what he seems add to the fun.

This is For News

If you’re interested in the daily intersction of work and life, I have an almost-daily blog, Ink in My Coffee, which follows all of my work from inspiration through publication and production.

This page will be for updates on the scripts and productions. There is no regular schedule for it; it will simply be for news as it happens.

Thank you for your interest!
